The Beach offers a wading
pool for young children, lanes for the serious swimmer, a nine feet deep
pool with diving boards, a large 4 feet deep pool, and a fantastic water
slide. Also featured are a sand volleyball court and basketball
facilities. If your hunger gets the best of you while you're there, they
also have a full service snack bar with picnic tables. Their fully trained
staff of lifeguards ensures everyone's safety. For $4.00 you can stay the
entire day! It truly is a bargain.
On weekdays, adults will be
admitted for $4. Youth (ages 3 to 17) and seniors (ages 55 and up)
can enter for $3. After 4 p.m., those rates will fall to $3 and $2,
respectively. On weekends, adult admission is $5. Youth and seniors
are admitted for $4. After
4 p.m., the rates drop to $4 and $3, respectively. Toddlers (ages 2 and
under) are admitted free on all days. Weekend rates apply for all
holidays.

Elwood
Haynes Museum

It all began here with the invention of America's
first horseless carriage by Elwood Haynes in 1894. Mr. Haynes is also
known for inventing stainless steel and an alloy used in the space program
today called satellite. Take a look at his life and contributions to
science at the Elwood Haynes Museum housed in this former residence.

The
Seiberling Mansion

The
late-Victorian style Seiberling Mansion was built in 1891 by the wealthy
industrialist Monroe Seiberling who came here to take advantage of the
natural gas deposits which turned Kokomo into an industrial town. The
mansion features Victorian decor and 10,000 daffodils blooming on the lawn
every April. The Seiberling Carriage House Museum houses antique cars and
other memorabilia from days past. The local history library provides
volumes of information about people, places and events in central Indiana.
The mansion offers a variety of events (some by reservation), the
reenactment of Emma Seiberling's wedding, private dinners, old-fashioned
ice cream socials and the Victorian Christmas Celebration are a few
examples.

Automotive Heritage Museum

The
Pioneer Auto Club began showing cars in the early 1950's. Their early
vision of an auto museum became reality in 1998. Visitors wander through
Kokomo's automotive history, beginning in 1894 through the 1970's.
Complete with a theater and gift shop, the museum's historic facades
feature a gas station, the Haynes home, a machine shop, and a drive-in.
Auto industry related displays and 80+ antique and classic cars make this
a must-see museum for car buffs.

Closed: Mondays and Tuesdays.

Greentown
Glass Museum

The Indiana Tumbler and Goblet Company of Greentown
produced holly amber glass and chocolate glass for only nine years (during
the gas boom era), until 1903 when fire destroyed the factory. Today you
can view educational and collector's exhibits of over 1,700 pieces of this
highly prized glass at the Greentown Glass Museum. Admission is Free.

bungalow at the edge of Highland Park, adjacent to the Elwood Haynes
Museum. The Center boasts a fine permanent collection as well as special

Come stroll through aviation history from WWII
through the Gulf War in a unique outdoor display at Grissom Reserve Base.
Stand nose to nose with over a dozen celebrated military airplanes. Inside
the museum you can sit in the cockpit of an F-4 Phantom jet fighter,
examine aviation armaments, flight trainers, uniforms, models, photos,
survival gear, engines, war prizes and much more.

You will want to stop in at the Kokomo Op Shop
and take a fascinating free tour of the facility where you will watch
hot glass being rolled into colorful sheets of designer glass which
will be sent all over the world for use in stained glass art. In
business since 1888, this is Kokomo's only gas boom era factory still
in existence today. Admission is Free.

Highland
Park

This
scenic 80 acre park is the "Crown Jewel" of the Kokomo Park System. Home
of "Old Ben" and the giant Sycamore Stump, the Vermont Covered Bridge and
Kokomo Creek, this peaceful park is located right in the heart of the
city. It is the site of the Kokomo Park Band Concerts on Wednesday evening
from June to August. Admission is Free.
